...a book that claims written by God's Holy Spirit should not...
...be taken seriously
in my study into the israelite and judahite salvations, i provided sources which tell us that the writers of the creation story at genesis 2 and 3 employed symbols associated with the goddess asherah, namely: eve, snake, and tree.. at present, i am researching satan and i came across the following from “the birth of satan” by t.j. wray and gregory mobley (pages 68-69 70).
doug.
even casual readers of the bible have heard about the story of the garden of eden (genesis 2-3).

we have had another shooting.
many are blaming trump and the republicans and the nra.. is it because of guns that there are so many massacres or could it be that these killers are mental?.
do you think guns should be removed from our society so that these atrocities never occur again?
Perhaps the US should ban mentally ill people, that way they can get rid of Trump as well
just came across this a few minutes ago:.
http://avoidjw.org/en/true-stories/pimo/.
it’s just been posted and is quite lengthy but it makes a change to read something from a reasonable jw!
guess some introduction would be nice, before anything.
i’m a 17 year old men boy raised on a very liberal, highly intelectualized jw family.
currently very anxious on starting medical school at a high ranked public university around here.
I'll tackle this point since it's been ignored by everyone else. I've never met an atheist who wasn't aware of the teleological argument, putting aside those who are atheists simply by apathetic default. The teleological argument has been moribund since the time of Darwin, preserved by creationist charlatans, and these days it clings on by a fingernail with hollow god of the gaps notions like fine-tuning. I think we can all see where this is going, given the past record of science vs theology.
As for the Summa Theologica, perhaps theists ought to consider reading something written more recently than the dark ages. Nothing in that text holds weight today, it's a series of bold assertions, backed up by nothing. Aquinas seems to get a free pass which no one deserves, it's about time it was revoked.
i used to pretty much believe anything they would report.
now, though, i find myself questioning “journalists “, with the realization that much of what is said may be inaccurate or slanted..
Op-Ed pieces are what really bug me, especially those found in the Huffington Post, an online newspaper for crybabies
i have an uneasy feeling inside that something is coming this year or the next.
perhaps a new big announcement that turns jwdom on it's head.. we've seen the statement in the watchtower november 15th, 2013 which said:.
watchtower november 15th, 2013 - page 20, paragraph 17.. .
Whatever it is, it'll be about money, they've started to drop the pretence of it being about anything else. Remember though, there is always something coming with them, it's how they sustain themselves, through keeping the R&F in suspense
the jws /ibsa have been going door to door now for over 100 years in many lands and countries, with numerous pieces of supporting literature counting in the millions.. you would think after all of the publicizing that the jws faith would have grown leaps and bounds but to date the jws has only 8 million following adherents.. other christian based faiths have grown vastly more but never publicly proselytized their faith to the extent the jws have... my basic concise guess is that they see this organization as a bit of commercialized fraud, orchestrated by a religious publishing house namely the watchtower corporation, trying to get people to purchase and read the wts's literature.. and yes the wts did place a set price on its literature including yearly subscriptions.
was it just too obvious ?.
did the wts not think that many people who they called on were from even bigger and older established christian faiths but didn't say or preach what the wts was preaching in their apparent version of the gospel ?.
Most people couldn't care less about the JWs. I've met hundreds of people in my life who haven't even heard of them, they aren't that well known anymore, assuming they ever were. They account for a mere 0.1% of the world's population, which is nothing, and most of their growth is in poverty-stricken places like Africa and the US
jws teach that john the baptist would not inherit kingdom of heaven.
however, there are problems with this teaching.. john’s mother elizabeth was both barren and too old to conceive.
(luke 1:7) birth of john was an act of “holy spirit.” (luke 1:15) then we find jesus saying: “among those born of women there has not risen anyone greater than john the baptist; yet whoever is least in the kingdom of heaven [“kingdom of god,” luke 7:28] is greater than he.” (mathew 11:11; luke 7:28).
Heaven doesn't exist
don't know if this a belief or scandal.
did you get the guy who had raised his family while serving?
it didn't say how he or his wife became witnesses, but;;;;;; he is a doctor, was invited to be a doc for the wt, sold out his home (at loss ((i bety)), moved, but you can be sure he didn't get a room at bethel.
On the topic of adjectives, I remember an elder once proclaiming from the platform that an adjective is a doing word. In his case, some basic infant-level schooling might have been an idea, let alone higher education
the news had macy's or some higher end store showing hijabs.
i made the mistake of showing wife.
her only comment was it was about time they made some modest clothing.
Sexy is a matter of taste
